With the increasingly strict emission regulations in Europe, many European manufacturers are reducing large-displacement models and transforming towards electrification, including the Jaguar Land Rover brand from the United Kingdom. It is reported that Jaguar Land Rover is in talks with BYD. If the negotiations are successful, BYD may set up a battery production center in the UK to provide power batteries for Jaguar Land Rover's new energy models. Moreover, Jaguar Land Rover and BYD are considering cooperation on the development of electric power propulsion systems.

At present, Jaguar Land Rover only has one pure electric SUV model I-Pace. However, due to the battery supply problem of LG Chem's Polish production line, Jaguar Land Rover Group suspended production of I-Pace for a week. According to Jaguar Land Rover's product plan, Jaguar's new XJ and J-Pace electric version models will be launched within two years, and the Land Rover brand will also launch a pure electric SUV model called "Road Rover", which prompted Jaguar Land Rover to have to plan for the battery supply problem of the upcoming electrified models.

In addition, in order to meet the production needs of more electrified products, Jaguar Land Rover plans to transform the Castle Bromwich plant in the UK into a production center to produce electric vehicles. Among them, the new XJ electric version of Jaguar will be the first to be put into production at this factory. In the future, the Jaguar J-PACE electric version and Land Rover's new electric model "Road Rover" will also be produced at the Bromwich Castle plant, while the Jaguar I-Pace will still be produced at the Austrian plant.
