It is reported that the FME platform BMS is a product independently developed by China FAW. A master multi-slave hardware topology using a battery control unit (BCU) plus multiple battery sampling units (BSU). BCU optimizes and upgrades on the basis of the corresponding products of Hongqi EV, and realizes independent development for the first time. Daisy chain communication between BCU and BSU reduces product cost.

The system design, shell design, application strategy development, software and hardware integration, system testing, bench testing, and prototype testing of this BMS are completed by the Battery Research Institute of the New Energy Development Institute. The hardware and basic software are developed by Intelligent Network Completed by Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineering.

The OTS accreditation test started in January 2020 and lasted nearly 4 months. During the period, due to the influence of uncontrollable factors, it caused great difficulties to the work.
